A neurological evaluation begins with a thorough clinical history and examination. Depending on the presenting concern, additional diagnostic testing — such as EMG/nerve conduction studies, EEG, or laboratory work — may be recommended to help clarify the diagnosis and guide management.
Not every symptom requires a specific diagnosis on the first visit. The goal is to understand what is happening neurologically, identify contributing factors, and develop an individualized plan that addresses the patient's specific situation.
